Thanks to Congressman Jared Golden for providing this statement for us, and for the work he’s doing to advance addiction treatment and recovery.
“The coronavirus pandemic can be especially isolating for Mainers in recovery. Thankfully, folks across the state have come together this month to remind them that they’re not alone,” said Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02). “During National Recovery Month, we must raise awareness about substance use disorders and remind Mainers in recovery that they have resources in these challenging times. In Congress, I have worked with my colleagues to push the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to continue critical programming for National Recovery Month, and I will always support the good work of the Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative to raise awareness and reduce the stigma around substance use disorder.”
