In a certain way meditation and addiction are opposites: meditation is checking in with the here and now, while addiction is checking out of the here and now. Meditation can be a powerful tool for addicts at all stages of recovery. Researchers believe that meditation actually changes the physiology of the brain, building up areas associated with optimism and compassion and minimizing the strength of areas associated with fear, pessimism, and depression. Please bring your own cushion/pillow. This group is open to adults. Men/Women/Neutral This is a free group.
